Lead Generation For Small Businesses

If you are a small service based business (auto shop, interior designer, bridal studio etc.), then leads are quite literally the lifeblood of your business. Without them, you simply cannot survive.

Typically, lead generation as a whole is a pretty daunting task for small businesses, especially if you are doing it through Google Ads or Facebook Ads.

Well, don't worry because we have some absolutely game changing tips for you in this article that are going to help you MASSIVELY increase the effectiveness of your lead generation ads.

Step 1: Capturing The Lead

The first step in the lead generation process is going to be, you guessed it....getting the lead to click on your site or your form. For lead generation, our preferred two paid media methods are Facebook Ads and Google Ads. Ideally we recommend businesses run both at the same time to cover their search advertising and disruptive advertising bases. We recommend starting with one platform and dialing that in and then adding on the next platform.

Where you capture the leads is super important. Will you be taking them to a custom built landing page funnel? Will you be taking them to a button to click to call? Will you be taking them to a Facebook lead form?

There are LOTS of choices when it comes to ways to capture the lead. Our preferred method is a custom built landing page. We find that these landing pages provide a slightly higher overall quality of lead with a slightly higher cost per lead (which is totally worth it).

Step 2: Contacting The Lead

Whatever your lead generation method is, you better be contacting those leads ASAP. You absolutely need to have some sort of push notification system set up to notify you when a person becomes a lead, because leads get colder the longer you wait!

We set this up for all of our lead generation clients so they don't have to do anything, but there are ways in many website or landing page builders to do this via email. Then it's up to you to close that deal!

Step 3: Tracking

When running you ad campaigns to generate leads, you NEED to make sure you are accurately tracking your results. If you aren't tracking your results then that is like trying to traverse a cliffside at night with no flashlight, yeah you might make it to where you want to go, but you will have no idea how you made it.

Make sure your Facebook Pixel and Google Tags are set up properly and tracking how each lead comes in. This will allow you to adjust your ads accordingly based on winning creatives, sets of copy and more.
